The
Morgan horse! Noted for soundness, intelligence, athleticism,
stamina, and beauty. Montey epitomizes the classic and versatile Morgan.
Some of the best historic Morgan bloodlines from the west and the east can be
found in Montey's pedigree. He is a talented athlete, with elegance and the best qualities found in the classic Morgan bloodlines of breeders Fran Bryant (Damon Ashmore, Cavendish, & Jubilee's
Gloria), Eve Oakley (Legend of Caven-Glo), Horseshoe Cattle Co. (Lucky
Annie, Easter Vermont, & Tubby Vermont), Robert Lippitt Knight (Lippitt Ashmore), and J.C. Brunk (Jubilee
King & Red Vermont). Montey clearly represents the Morgan standard
of today and yesterday.
Montey not only provides an excellent
source of Lambert/Lippitt blood for breeding on classic Morgan lines, he crosses particularly well with
mares of government, Ben Don, and Brunk bloodlines.
We think Montey was born
knowing how to drive. He is ridden regularly by our
9-year-old granddaughter and was shown by a young lady
in her teens. Truly great testaments to his superb
temperament.

SIRE
and DAM
His sire, Shane Ashmore, is the last colt bred by Frances Bryant of
Serenity Farm, South Woodstock, Vermont. Mrs. Bryant's Morgan breeding program
spanned many years and boasted the blood of many of the classic Morgan greats, not the
least of which was Jubilee King, who appears 6 times in Montey's 8-generation
pedigree. Montey's dam, Dunham Lucky Legend, also
has a connection to Mrs. Bryant's breeding, by way of Legend of Caven-Glo, who was a son
of Cavendish and Jubilee's Gloria. |
